Day-by-Day Itinerary (DAY ARE FOR AN EXAMPLE ONLY)

October 21, 2025 – Arrive Arusha, Tanzania – Guests should plan to arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) near Arusha, Tanzania no later than October 21st.  Guests arriving early can be provided with additional accommodations, meals, and transfers for an extra cost. Upon arrival guests will be met and transferred to The Arusha Hotel in downtown Arusha.

October 22 & 23, 2025 – Eastern Serengeti Private Nature Refuge - After breakfast, we will make the short drive to the Arusha Airstrip to catch a 50-minute flight to a 10,000-acre private nature refuge in the Eastern Serengeti where will be met by our guides and camp staff. Over the next two days, we will enjoy a combination of walking safaris, night drives by spotlight and meetings and portrait photography with members of the local Maasai community. The refuge is teeming with hoofed mammals with the highlight being a large concentration of Maasai giraffe, which can be spotted right from camp at the waterhole.

October 24 & 25, 2025 – Northern Serengeti National Park – In the dry season, nearly 2 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle congregate along the Mara River in Tanzania’s northern Serengeti.  The region is also loaded with resident wildlife like elephant, buffalo, cheetah, hyena, and lion. While this area is loaded with vehicles in the summer, it will be nice and quiet when we are there in October. Our camp is located just a few miles from the river on a sloping hill overlooking grassy plains and acacia woodlands.

October 26 & 27 – Central Serengeti National Park – The Serengeti is home to nearly 3,000 lions – more than the entire country of Kenya – and most of these cats hold territory in the Seronera River Valley in the Central Serengeti.  Over the next two days, we will venture out into the heart of the park to search for prides of lion, leopard, and a vast array of resident wildlife. This is the classic Serengeti experience, and our camp is right in the middle of the action. An Optional Serengeti Balloon Safari is available to interested guests for an additional $599 per person including all transportation, a champagne toast and bush breakfast.

October 28 & 29, 2025 – Ngorongoro Crater – We will wake early this morning for a full day’s drive across the Serengeti’s plains en route to the immense Ngorongoro Crater.  We’ll keep an eye out for cheetah on the way before stopping at Olduvai Gorge, the Cradle of Humankind.  We’ll enjoy the museum and a picnic lunch before carrying on up to camp which is perched on the eastern rim of Ngorongoro.  The next morning, we will descend by Land Rover onto the floor of the crater for a full day of Big Five wildlife viewing. While we will see huge bull elephant, lion, and other critters…this is our best bet for spotting the critically endangered Black Rhino. This evening, we will celebrate with a farewell dinner at camp.

October 30, 2025 – Depart Arusha, Tanzania – We will depart the crater rim this morning for a 3-hour drive back to Arusha. We’ll enjoy a farewell lunch at Arusha Coffee Lodge and a bit of shopping before heading to our day rooms at The Arusha Hotel.  Finally, after bidding farewell to our trusted guides, we will transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport to meet our return flights back to the US.
